The long drought for Lucic

Lucic, the key player of the Boston Bruins, broke the long drought of goalless games. After struggling through 20 games without goals, he made the most of the game with the Philadelphia Flyer and scored the two out of five goals in the game. According to records, he scored his last goal before the Philadelphia game on March 22. It has been 50 days, and probably the longest drought period for this top player. Lucic seemed relieved after his goal in the match. The best part is that lucid delivered when it matted the most to the team. Winning the match against Philadelphia was the key to reaching the final of the Eastern Conference Stanley Cup.

The emotional Lucic

After scoring the drought-breaker goal against the Flyers, Lucic looked emotional. He confessed to being frustrated to go without a goal for so long. This confession comes as a direct paradox to his character. He never admits to his frustrations. The fact he did speaks volumes about the level of frustration and pressure he was under. To any observer in the stadium, he looked like he had been hugely relieved and a big load lifted off him. He spoke about his satisfaction of winning the match and said that he was looking forward to the finals. Lucic has been a very important member of the Boston team for a long time. His exceptional skill in goal scoring made him one of the most dangerous players on field. Considering all these factors, the player was definitely under pressure to score, which he fortunately did in the Stanley Cup.

The upcoming finals

The upcoming final between the Boston Bruins and the Tampa Bay Lightning will be a match to watch out for. What more surprises Lucic has in store for the audience, after regaining his form, will have to be waited and watched. The final is to take place in Boston. However, Tampa Bay looks like a serious contender, having thrashed Washington Capitals in the Round 2. The match is sure to be action-filled and no less than a fast-paced thriller.

Hard Grinding

The Celtic side managed to get past Hibernian on the Easter Road derby when they scored one goal. Their opponents were unable to force a reply score. Robbie Keane was the start of the moment, adding to his legend as one of the great players in the league who is not to be ignored under any circumstances. They now have narrowed the gap between the Celtic side and the champion leaders. However there is some doubt as to whether Rangers have to worry too much about Celtic in the race to become SPL winners. All in all this was a productive day which Celtic can look back on with some pride. Of course there are lessons to be learnt because the score might have been wider.

This is Robbie Keane’s twelfth goad in as many matches which goes to prove what a clever investment he has been. As for Neil Lennon, he can look back on his record as quietly confident with a second victory in as many games that Celtic has played under his guidance. Of course the future tests might prove to be much tougher but the reality is that this is a good starting point and it will build the confidence of the team in their new leader. There was some drama when Aiden was felled by Anthony Stokes at just about the third section. In the event the encounter was decided by a spot kick in the second half of the game.
The pitch was nothing to write home about and it did not make for the smoothest of football matches. However it must be said that Hibs was an absolute star in the initial stages of the game and provided the impetus for the rest of the team to respond appropriately. His slick moves were something to behold and contrasted sharply with the rather shabby pitch. The Celtic goal keeper was in fine fettle and managed a couple of saves which might have cost the side the match. This was certainly a good day at the office for the Celtic side and they will be hoping that there will be other similar days.
